The iconic windwills of The Netherlands lay in ruins behind a grave reading, "Answer Their Prayers" in this dramatic and effective poster created for American Relief for Holland. A young girl prays over her paltry meal of a piece of bread, as we are asked to contribute what we can to help her.

American Relief for Holland was formed by the Queen Wilhelmina and the Royal Dutch Family after they fled the Netherlands after Germany's surprise invasion in 1940. The Nazi Regime took both Holland and Belgium, then neutral countries, by ambush in their push to conquer France. They left death and destruction in their wake, and the following five years (any many after the War ended) were ones of hunger and desperation for the general population.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
