Bourgogne France is a 1952 advertisement by Robert Humblot (1907-1962) for the national French railway known as, S.N.C.F. Robert Humblot was an accomplished landscape painter, whose artwork was a natural fit for S.N.C.F.’s travel posters. Bourgogne or Burgundy is a region in central France that is well known for its wine. This beautiful artwork features local architecture based on The Hospices de Beaune in the city of Beaune in Burgundy.
S.N.C.F., or Societe Nationale Des Chemins De Fer Francais, commissioned a series of posters promoting French tourist destinations that highlight many of the historic and scenic regions of the country. This series spanned almost twenty years and featured the artwork of many famous poster artists, including Dufy, Nathan and Jal to name a few. These posters were produced in many languages, this version is in English.
This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
