Escaping summer in the city is a desire that is not new - this fun 1948 poster by Gino Boccasile advertises just that. This poster entices us to come to Messina, Italy for the Castroreale Baths - where the alkaline and sodium-rich waters ease a variety of medical conditions. The promise of seeing a pretty nude brunette seems to be the main draw here, however.
Castroreale is a small village in the larger city of Messina, on the Italian island of Sicily. It has been significant since the Medieval Ages due to its easy access to the Eolian Islands. It has over 80 churches, one of which dates to the time of Frederic II of Aragon in 1324. Sicily has long been a destination for mainland Italians to visit in the summer, when its prime location in the middle of the Mediterranean provides excellent beaches and plentiful seafood.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
