This poster was created c1950 for the French company Favor, which manufactured bicycles and motorcycles. Favor was founded in 1898 in Clemont-Ferrand, a French city in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region, where the Michelin tire company is also based. Favor motorcycles were regularly ridden to victory in French national championships throughout the 1950s. The company closed in 1977. This charming image created by Bellenger shows a fun seeking woman riding her Favor motorcycle while putting on her lipstick. The message is that the ride of the motorcycle is both elegant and smooth. It has a charm and touch of whimsy.

Pierre and Jacques Bellenger were born in 1909 in France. The brothers worked together and have a similar style. Both men were trained at the Julian Academy where they won the Colonial Exposition contest in 1928. This began their notable career as poster artists and continued through the 1960s. During their active years, they produced advertisements for many products ranging from food and beverage to gasoline, and even motorcycles.

This is an original vintage poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in good condition. Fold marks are minimally visible, although there has been professional restoration along them and the poster presents very well overall. There is some unevenness in the yellow background color . We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
