Cognac has been wildly popular in China for almost two hundred years, when Shanghai's port opened to the West. Cognac Jules Robin was one of the first labels of the liqueur to heavily advertise in China. The label's advertising team wisely chose to follow the lead of local tradition; a classical scene is portrayed here in accurate fashion. Two barkeeps solicit the patronage of a passing man with his donkey.
