Marines meet with local children in Guam in this American WWII poster by Sargeant J.R. McDermott. It is part of a 1945 enlistment campaign by the U.S. Marine Corps, which depicted different scenes of battle. Each poster in the series features art by an active servicemember.
The text of this poster reads: "Guam - Marines of the Third Marine Division and the First Marine Provisional Brigade made the initial assaults of a brilliant 21-day campaign, beginning July 20, 1944, in which Guam was retaken from a strong Japanese garrison. The natives of Guam - - first pre-war American territory in the Pacfic to be liberated - - were jubilant".
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
