(71cm x 102cm)
Next! 6th War Loan is a 1944 WWII American propaganda poster by James R. Bingham. The 6th War Loan emphasized a drive to target Japan in the South Pacific front. The image shows a rugged American soldier looking down on Japan, grinning as he exclaims, "Next!" The artwork includes a logo showing a bomb dropping over the Japanese rising sun flag.
The 6th War Loan started after the November Presidential election with a goal of 16 billion dollars. The previous war bond drives raised in total 355 billion dollars, including 38 billion from individuals.
James R. Bingham (1917-1971) is well known for his illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post on the Perry Mason and Tugboat Annie series. Bingham was a successful commercial artist whose clients included Maxwell House, Gulf Oil, Cannon Towels, Caterpillar Tractor, Philadelphia Whisky, Alcoa Steamship Company, Champion Spark Plugs, and U S Steel. During World War II he served as a naval officer and painted numerous posters promoting the war effort.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
