Rene Gruau (1909-2004) is one of the most recognized poster artists of the 21st Century. Gruau was a fashion illustrator whose exaggerated portrayal of fashion design through painting has had a lasting effect on the fashion industry. Gruau used simplicity of lines and crisp color, particularly, blacks, reds, and yellows to create his images. His lively and elegant style suits many tastes and decors.

This image was first created by Gruau in 1955 for an advertising campaign for Diorama perfume by Christian Dior. This hand-signed and numbered print by Rene Gruau has been expertly printed on high quality, thin flecked Japanese mulberry paper with deckled edges. It was printed in an edition of 300 with 45 Artists Proofs. It is in excellent condition.
