Joan Miro i Ferra (1893 - 1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist. Often publicly expressing his contempt for conventional painting methods, this internationally famous artist is associated with Surrealism and Dadaism and his works are usually in a childlike style. In his native city of Barcelona, a museum named Fundacio Joan Miro is dedicated to his works.
