This charming original vintage poster was created in 1938 by Philippe Henri Noyer to promote Source Brault, a naturally carbonated French mineral water. The whimsical Art Deco composition features five graceful mermaids playfully swimming through sparkling mineral water, surrounded by effervescent bubbles that reinforce the refreshing qualities of the spring. Dominating the background is an oversized crystal-clear drinking glass, cleverly linking the underwater fantasy with the product itself. The text proclaims the water to be "Merveilleusement Gazeuse" ("Wonderfully Sparkling") and "Rigoureusement Naturelle" ("Completely Natural"), emphasizing the purity and natural carbonation that distinguished Source Brault from competing mineral waters. Philippe Henri Noyer (1917–1985) was a French illustrator, painter, and graphic designer whose work became closely associated with the golden age of French commercial advertising. Working throughout the 1930s and the post-war period, Noyer produced posters distinguished by their refined draftsmanship, vibrant color, and imaginative compositions. His designs frequently combined elements of fantasy and realism, creating memorable advertising images that remain highly regarded by collectors of original vintage posters. In addition to his commercial work, Noyer was an accomplished painter and illustrator whose artistic versatility earned him recognition across several creative disciplines.Printed in 1938, this poster is an outstanding example of pre-war French advertising, combining Art Deco elegance with playful fantasy to create an unforgettable image that remains as visually engaging today as when it was first displayed. This is an Original Vintage Poster, it is not a reproduction.
