One of the most iconic Superman posters ever produced, this impressive 1971 door panel captures the Man of Steel soaring through the sky with one hand raised in a peace sign and the other in greeting. Standing over six feet tall, the poster perfectly reflects the optimistic spirit of the early 1970s, when Superman had become not only America's greatest superhero but also a worldwide symbol of hope, justice, and goodwill. Originally issued as a mail-order and retail door panel poster, it was printed in relatively limited quantities, making well-preserved original examples increasingly difficult to find today. The artwork was created by Curt Swan and inked by Murphy Anderson, whose collaboration became affectionately known among comic book fans as "Swanderson." Their interpretation of Superman is widely regarded as the definitive version of the character, appearing throughout DC Comics during the Silver and Bronze Ages. The simple yet powerful composition, featuring Superman flying directly toward the viewer with the peace gesture, has become one of the most recognizable pieces of Superman imagery ever published. Douglas Curtis "Curt" Swan (1920–1996) was the principal Superman artist for DC Comics from the 1950s through the 1980s. Swan's clean draftsmanship, expressive figures, and timeless realism earned him recognition as one of the most influential comic book artists of the twentieth century.
