In this striking Art Deco-era travel poster, Roger Broders captures the golden charm of Villefranche-sur-Mer, a tranquil harbor town along the French Riviera.
Commissioned by the PLM (Paris–Lyon–Méditerranée) railway , the poster was designed to promote Villefranche as an elite destination for leisure and coastal exploration. Known for its deep natural harbor and proximity to Nice and Monaco, Villefranche offered the ideal blend of elegance and escape — a message clearly echoed in Broders’ refined composition.
Roger Broders (1883–1953) was among the most celebrated travel poster artists of the Art Deco era. He was known for his clean lines, vibrant palettes, and stylized compositions that elevated both place and travel experience. Though he produced fewer than 100 posters in total, Broders’ work remains iconic — capturing the golden age of European rail travel with precision and elegance.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. It is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. Please note that the overall color intensity of this poster has faded evenly and that is reflected in the price of this poster. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
