(61cm x 99cm)
La Cote D'Azur - Villemot is a 1968 French railroad travel advertisement by Bernard Villemot (1909-1989) for SNCF. SNCF is also known as the Societe Nationale Des Chemins De Fer Francais, the National French Railway Company. This travel poster is promoting the care-free beaches of the French Riviera. The text reads, "Visit the French Riviera, by train or bus". Villemot smartly plays with the tan lines of female figure, as he depicts the nude couple enjoying some time together by the pool.

The French Riviera has been a popular travel destination since the mid-19th century, known for its luxury hotels, beautiful beaches, and casinos. The region includes the sovereign state of Monaco, which is further known for its Grand Prix automobile races. The region was popularized in the mid 20th century by Grace Kelly with her marriage to Prince Rainier. The French Riviera is also the location of the annual Cannes Film Festival.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
