This WNEW AM 1130 radio advertisement features Mel Torme ( known as the Velvet Fog) and was produced in 1973.
WNEW AM was a radio station in Newark, NJ in operation from 1934-1992. The station made many breakthroughs in radio including the first use of disc jockeys and "the morning drive" concept. The company itself was inaugurated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt from the White House.
In 1973, WNEW commissioned a series of portraits of famous Jazz and Big Bands stars to announce the stations return to its earlier musical roots. The series includes Elle Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Peggy Lee, and Louis Armstrong.
This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
