8 EME Trophee Lancome is a 1977 sports completion golf poster by Luigi Castiglioni. The event took place from Ocbober 13-16 at the St. Nom La Breteche Golf course located nearby Paris, France. The Trophee Lancome was an annual professional golf tournament, which ran from 1970-2003. The tournament was established to help popularize the sport of golf in France. The 1977 poster celebrates the 8th tournament and lists the winners of the previous tournaments including Arnold Palmer (1971). Graham Marsh of Australia was the winner in 1977.
Luigi Castiglioni (1936-2003) was an Italian painter and commercial artist active in the later half of the 20th century. He established himself during the 1960's with illustrations in various magazines as well as his "Music Hall, Les Beatles" poster in 1969. He would later become known for his sports themed posters. He has won many awards for his fine art painting and commercial artwork, including exhibitions at the Paris National Library and Cannes Festival.
