This vintage poster was created to promote the 1961 Ice Hockey World Championships held in Geneva and Lausanne, Switzerland, from March 1 to 12. The artwork captures the dynamic energy of ice hockey, reflecting the excitement of this international event. The tournament concluded with Canada, represented by the Trail Smoke Eaters, securing their nineteenth international title. Czechoslovakia earned the silver medal, while the Soviet Union took bronze.
Jean and Lucien Ongaro were Swiss graphic designers active during the mid-20th century. Their work is recognized for its contribution to Swiss graphic design history, with notable pieces featured in publications such as "Die besten Plakate des Jahres" (The Best Posters of the Year) in 1961.
This is an Original Vintage Poster, it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

What Does 'Original' Mean?
We only deal in original vintage posters, never reproductions. This means that every poster is from the original print run, in the year listed in the description. Everything we sell comes with an individually signed certificate of authenticity, which we fully guarantee.
