Favor Cycle - Man - Large
Favor Cycle - Man - Large
(160cm x 119cm)
Many manufacturers of bicycles in the early 1900’s added motorcycles to their product lines as the technology of the motorcycle engine developed. The Favor Company, founded in 1898 in Clermont Fernand France, was a long-standing producer of bicycles as well as a frequent user of Vintage Posters to promote its products. The imagery of this poster illustrates that whether the consumer chooses a Favor bicycle or a Favor motorcycle they will enjoy their purchase because of the well designed mechanics. This particular image was produced in 2 sizes, this example is the larger size.
The artist of this image is simply signed as Bellenger. Pierre and Jacques Bellenger were born in 1909 in France. The brothers worked together and have a similar style. Both men were trained at the Julian Academy where they won the Colonial Exposition contest in 1928. This began their notable career as poster artists and continued through the 1960s. During their active years, they produced advertisements for many products ranging from food and beverage to gasoline, and even motorcycles.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
