Referencing the American Revolution was a common motif in WWII posters from the United States. Here, we see Concord, Massachusetts' Minuteman Statue in proud prominence. It is meant to evoke the revolutionary spirit and American pride.


This poster was printed by the U.S. Treasury Department and was likely created for the 6th War Loan campaign. The 6th War Loan began in November, 1944 with a goal of 16 billion dollars. The previous war bond drives raised in total 355 billion dollars, including 38 billion from individuals.
