Nestor Portron

Nestor Portron is a French liqueur brand, known particularly for its high-quality fruit liqueurs and spirits. In the image we see a historical figure of a wealthy man savoring his bottle of Nestor Portron. The warm rich colors convey the sense that this is a liqueur that will be smooth and warm.

The artist, Francisco Tamagno (1851-1933) was of Portuguese origin, and started his artistic career as a portrait painter. Tamagno moved to Paris sometime in the 1880’s and became the house artist of the Printer Camis, where he started off creating theatrical playbills and moved up to creating posters for railroads, bicycle makers, and distillers. Tamagno’s style is highly pictorial and his work can be identified through the use of lively, bright colors.
