Nothing Stops These Men
Nothing Stops These Men
(137cm x 99cm)
In this World War l poster we view the vivid image of the American soldiers , bayonets drawn, charging the enemy forces. The image is very skillfully executed by the artist Howard Everett Giles and one can sense the action on the battlefield and the energy of the troops. The poster urges the viewer to support the efforts at home to supply the troops with the ships and armaments that they need to speed them to victory.
Howard Giles (1876 – 1955) was born in Brooklyn, NY . He studied at the Art Students League in New York City and succeeded in building a career as a painter, illustrator, and art teacher. Much of his work appeared in Harper’s Magazine and like many of his contemporaries during World War l he assisted in the government’s efforts to create effective and spirited poster designs.

If there's anything you want to know about posters, vintage or more modern, there's nothing Mr Ross doesn't know. His open and friendly manner helps one to choose the most suitable material whether for decoration, investment or whatever... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Just wanted to say thanks for the poster. You sent it on Thursday and it was delivered the following Monday (nearly quicker than it took us to get home) to our house in Perth, Australia. We have just had it framed. We love it; it goes perfectly with the room.

The Ross Gallery has the best selection of vintage posters I have ever seen. Seriously, if you are in the market, they are the people. And, they know everything there is to know about the posters' provenance.
