This poster was printed by the Office of Civilian Defense. The office was created to inform Americans what to do in case of enemy attack. Immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the office printed and distributed pamphlets describing what to do in the event of an air raid. Some of its other duties included promoting public morale, coordinating transportation, industrial and farm production, and providing financial support to the war effort.

The letters "OCD" outline crowds of people. The emblem of the office helped remind Americans that the war was continuing. The imagery and phrasing in this poster, "Allies for a big job," encourage the American public to unite on the home front to help with the war effort. Little is known about the artist, Emily Newman.

This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
