
This poster was created for the "International Race of Champions" held in 1974. This years oval-circuit race was held at the Daytona International Speedway, and all drivers drove stock Porsche Carreras. The winner this year was Mark Donohue, who would pass away a year later in a Formula One crash.
Ferdinand Porsche began his famed automotive business in Germany in 1931, and it originally started as a parts manufacturer that supplied Volkswagen. During WWII, Porsche created military tanks and supplies. It was not until 1948 that Porsche produced its first sportscar. Ever since, Porsche has been known on the racing circuit as well as a high performance sports and luxury car for the consumer markets.
