In the years immediately following World War II, many countries were trying to attract visitors to their tourist destinations. In this beautiful graphic created in 1948, the artist Jose Morell vividly depicts a group of native garbed flamenco dancers in their flowing dresses. It conveys a very effective message of welcome and hospitality.
Jose Morell created a small body of poster images mainly in the 1940's & 50's all commissioned by the Spanish State Tourist Department. Each of these very executed crafted posters shows colorful people enjoying life in Spain and thus serving to attract visitors to the country.
