Versinthe is a French liquor poster created by the Philippe Sommer in 2000. The drink is a brand of Absinthe, made from two varieties of artimisia softened by infusions from twenty different plants and roots. Versinthe is served by pouring over a white cube of sugar that is strained through a ridged spoon. In this artwork, Sommer has cleverly equated the young woman with the sugar as she caresses an oversized version of the Versinthe spoon. Sommer created this poster as a sister image to his Champagne Liebart Regnier poster from the same year.
This poster was printed in a limited edition of only 550 pieces and has been hand signed by the artist.
